Roulette: French, American, Speed and Lightning Wheels Compared

Every roulette bet carries a price you cannot see on the layout: the zero. How many zeros the wheel has changes what each bet costs you over a session. ME777 roulette tables follow the same logic, so choosing a wheel is the first stake decision, made before any chip is placed. What follows is Evolution’s description of its own tables.
ME777 roulette: four wheel types and their price
| Wheel | What Evolution’s site describes | Cost | Return |
|---|---|---|---|
| French | Single zero, La Partage | Fewest zeros of the four | The lowest built-in cost per bet |
| American | Double zero | An extra zero on every bet | Familiar layout for some players |
| Speed | 25 seconds from spin to spin | More rounds per hour | A quick game with less waiting |
| Lightning | 1 to 5 Lucky Numbers, 50x to 500x on Straight Up | Lucky Numbers are the only boosted bets | A large multiplier on a narrow bet |
Evolution prints no RTP on its roulette pages. A table’s own screen shows the payouts and the limits for the studio running it.
Problem: you play the double-zero wheel because it was the first one in the list.
Fix: read the wheel before the first bet. A single zero is visible on the wheel and in the rules panel, and it is the cheaper choice for the same stake.
Roulette online: what a live table adds
Search results for roulette online mix live dealer tables with automated wheels, which run without a dealer. The lobby’s Live lane is the live kind. Its studios included Evolution, Ezugi, Playtech, WM and SA, and Evolution is the one described here. A wheel from another studio carries its own rules, so the label on the card decides which description applies.
Picking a wheel by budget
Small budget. Take the French wheel at Evolution, if the lane lists it: the built-in cost per bet is lowest, and a small stake lasts more rounds.
Fast-session budget. Speed is the pace to choose only if you can hold a per-round stake low. The cost of Speed is the number of rounds you will face.
Lightning. Treat it as a feature bet. The multiplier applies to Straight Up bets on Lucky Numbers, so the return is concentrated on a narrow bet that loses on most rounds.
| Stake rule | Why |
|---|---|
| Fix a total for the hour first | Round count depends on the pace |
| Keep inside bets small on Lightning | The return sits on a narrow bet |
| Leave the table when the total is spent | A new total is a new decision |

How to Get Started
-
Open Live and look for a roulette card
No roulette card was among those printed on the Live row at the last read. The row changes, so open the lane and read the card names yourself.
-
Check the wheel on the table's screen
A single zero or a double zero is visible on the wheel and in the rules panel. It sets the cost of every bet, so read it before betting.
-
Set a stake for the pace
With 25 seconds between spins, an hour fits many more rounds than a slow wheel. Fix the budget for the hour, then divide by your stake.
